December 21

Here it is the end of December already. I just got back from Iowa yesterday. I had a great trip and really enjoyed my friends in Iowa. The hunting for whitetails was super but the getting was a little of the light side. I have some pictures that I have not down loaded yet. If I get that job done I will provide a few photos for the blog. No "thurty pointer" but a lot of good times.

The Day After- Black Friday

The day was a beautiful sunny day with the temperatures getting into the 40's by early afternoon. I should have been chasing whitetails but I decided to get my banking done while they were open. Only Unit 8A is still open for hunting whitetails. I fixed a big roast for an early evening meal. I almost forgot that I had almost floundered during the annual turkey dinner. Eating is still my biggest vice. it is hard to control my appetite. Since my knee problem has gotten worse again I have ballooned to over 304 pounds. I need to do more exercises besides pushing back from the dinner table after I am full.

Thanksgiving Wish

Happy Thanksgiving! Tis the day to be thankful for all of my blessings. As I sit here in front of the computer i am reflecting on the second post that I am making to my blog. This is all very new to me so please accept my apologies for not meeting your expectations. I can only say that you haven't told me what they are yet..so it is impossible to meet them. Give me some feedback and I will try to respond. What would you like to know? Is there anything in my first post that left you with a question?
To continue on with my thoughts from the other day I must say that I try to focus on the future to keep from getting bored in the present. Currently I am focusing on a hunting trip to Iowa. I leave on the 28th of Novemebr from Missoula and will return on the 19th of December. The trip will include a visit to my Iowa friends. The goal is to find the biggest buck in Iowa! It includes lots of great times with family and friends as the quest for the big buck continues.
Well enough for today. Remember to humor me and give me some feed back. It will help me to continue this new adventure.

Popsie

The BEGINNING!
This is my first entry into the world of "Blog"! I have absolutely no idea why I am doing this other then it is a new challenge. I am not yet ready to admit that I have reached the pinacle of life. To do so would be having to adjust to the mortal faqct that i am human. I have always thought of myself more as an observer to humans. Unwilling to fully enbrace all the concepts of human life and existence. Oh my do I stray easily. I am suppose to be Blogging. Well back to blogging before I forget that is my sole objective with this post.
The trip starts with the first step!
I have taken the first step....a rather small one...but I am definitely on my way. Now if I could only figure out where I am going too I would gain a more positive prespective on the whole situation. What am I speaking about....retirement of course. I have recently retired. I wasn't ready to do it but the situation became very unhealthy for me. I decided on the spur of the heated moment to retire. I was no longer having fun doing what I felt was the greatest job in the world. I am still trying to figure out why they paid me.
No need to look back. That step is taken. I need to look at where my foot is going to land as I take that second step of retirement. I consider that step to be deciding where in the world I will begin to enjoy retirement.
I am currently in Orofino Idaho with no anchors or reasons of why I should stay here. Life is definitely easy here in Orofino. The cost of living is very manageable but the quality of life leaves something to be desired. I guess that the question I need to answer is what quality of life do I want. I think that I want to fish and hunt in my retirement. So a priority would be to have that a definite part of my daily life in a seasonal pattern. I would like to be able to go fishing in my boat daily from spring to fall for warm water species. I want to be able to ice fishing daily during the winter.
Enough of a start ...my brian is on overload as I formulate most of what I am writing. Stay tune as I develope a plan for life!
