Weight Management Plan
WOW! Trying to keep up with your weight management plan can be a real chore. It is great to have all these resources available to you on the internet but they all take "TIME" to use them. I am afraid that a lot of people start them but fail to follow through because of the time factor. I now have the feeling that it is really important to follow through on these plans. Maybe it is because of my senior age or maybe it is because I actually have some time to manage a program effectively. What ever the reason I have started (3 days worth) a program on the Blue Cross Blue Shield web site. After starting I found out that i need a calorie counting program in addtion to it so that I can enter the correct information. Who would have thought that counting (recording) calories would be such a hard job. I got hungry inputting data this morning. I was actually consumming more calories as I was entering them onto my plate. My plate is a term used on the web site that I am using. It is a pretty neat and useful site. I also have another site to enter my physical exercise. Most of my exercise has been brisk walking. I have been able to walk 2 miles the past two days since the snow melted out of the streets. Once the snow is gone I might vary my walking direction and get a few more wiles in. I also need to start getting some cardiovascular exercise (strength training) 2-3 times a week. I have to do more reading on that so that i don't do the wrong type. Wish me success with the program. The BCBS site says that my target weight is 204! I weighed that much in the Army when I was in GREAT Shape! I am currently at 287.0 pounds. I will try to acheive a "Balance" weight loss program and shoot for 1-2 pounds a week. As they say this is not a diet but rather a life style change. I need to find a job on a cattle ranch which should give me the exercise program that I need. When I was in Iowa we started at 0500am and quit at 0900pm. During that time there was no sitiing in from of the computer or watching tv! Snacking was not possible even if you wanted too. You were out in the farm working or cutting a load of wood for the stove! You will probably see a few more entries as I get in the swing of this program. Bear with me...humor the old dog as he chews on this old bone..
